Dana 44 axel seal question

Hey guys, so I went to inspect some ball joints under the truck the other day and discovered gear oil on my tire. Yay! I'm assuming the axel seal failed... apparently I'm "lucky" because it's the passenger side. My question is , how many seals are in this dana 44 housing total just the 2 ? Also the passenger side, do I just have to remove the CAD unit to get access ? Is anything going to fall out or separate when I pull it? Never messed with one before. Also does anyone have any tips or tricks installing the new one ? I seen one guy on you tube that has a tool made for the inner diameter of the seal to seat properly. Trying to be cost effective here as I can. There's also another guy on tube who sells his own machined tool for installing the seal but requires you pulling the inner axel which I don't want to do and it's a 100 bucks.
The job doesn't look to bad and an average guy like m
Thanks yall

The seal installer tool is the tool that's needed, which you can find here - https://torqueking.com/product/1002/...ana-cad-axles/. You can use the seal installer with a long piece of threaded rod, a couple of nuts and washers and a steel or wood plate with a hole on it (for the threaded rod to pass through) for the knuckle end of the differential.

Ya I came across his website. I would only have to remove the passenger side axle to install the seal right ?

As opposed to what? Both axles? If so, yeah, you just need to remove the RH axle, but you'll likely want the intermediate shaft out of the way so you have room to work in the CAD cavity. But there's no need to touch the LH if you're not interested in servicing that side.

You just slide it out, but I'd at least consider you may have rollers fall out when you do (as I did). Or it may be perfectly fine. Or you may have a bushing.
