Governer Pressure Sensor question

As I was dozing off Last night, the problem wouldn’t leave my head, and then it dawned on me... did I check the main transmission harness that I had just replaced? So I get up this morning And got under the rig and to my delight the harness was not connected - whoops!
I’ll be taking it on a 100 mile trip to see if all the problems are fixed ( transmission, oil consumption) will report back later
thank you everyone for all the help and time

Got back from the trip and I am happy to report it did not lose any oil on the stick. Though, The oil pan gasket I replaced is leaking a drop or two but overall I think it’s manageable. Now, The truck has much more throttle response and goes up hills much better (thanks to the Intake/ plenum repair)
The check engine light came on on our way back and popped up the code P1757 relating to the governed pressure sensor. Any ideas?

Might want to read over this thread - https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...rans-code.html Down in that thread, Moparite posted information on how to check the pressure that causes that code to be triggered. You might also want to try resetting the code and see if it comes back, since the harness had been unplugged.

You don't have to pull the pan to read the line pressure. You just need a 0-300 psi gauge and a 1/8" pipe thread male fitting to connect to the port on the side of the transmission to gain an understanding of the transmission line pressure to determine if its the sensor or something else.
Wow! That's a cross-country trip, if I read that right. Wishing you all the best and enjoy your trip.

P1757 is one of those sensors. I just went through the very same thing. Contact the seller and they should send you both new ones. Yeah, it's a pain to drop the pan again but it has to be done. I bought mine off eBay as well and the seller sent me new ones over night and apologized but as we all know. It happens sometimes. I am taking mine to the transmission shop so he can make some band adjustments due to odd shifts ( sometimes long shift) He has worked with me over the years and is one of the few honest one's who try and save you money. That's why he is never not busy. lol. I'm at least able to do daily driving with it now.

Appreciate it Atomic. I will check the pressure when we stop in MN to visit some friends for a few days.By the way, my older brother lives in Chesapeake, VA. He left 10 years ago, now I'm heading out. This state is unlivable
And to give back to this great community, I plan to do a thorough write up for the harness swap in case anyone else is in the same boat
Sirrigs, as it sits now, I just pull out in 2nd, then shift into drive, I think this will suite me fine until we get to our place since most of the driving will be highway. I will contact the seller to get replacement components as there was no issues prior to changing it out and I made sure to triple check everything before I bolted the pan on since I was paranoid with anything relating to the internal components of the transmission
Cheers boys
