Then you have a short to voltage somewhere on that circuit. Unplug the switch, it might just be that easy.

will try that in the morning. I have a parts truck that has a matching OD switch. I have that one off now, I see it has four wires to it. Will install it, and get back. Thanks

So, it comes to pass. I installed the replacement switch, and then the computer, and then even tried no switch at all. I did get overdrive for about two miles then it shut back off. This happen when I took the battery cable off. Waited for a bit Changing the PC.

I might be tempted to cut the signal return wire from the O/D switch, just to see if the behavior changed.

Need a scanner that can read (logging would be nice too) live data. See what the PCM thinks is going on. Should give a clue as to why it won't shift.
