Getting there. I have dealt with on and off rain but did manage to get everything back but the engine crank sensor.I will install that back in in the morning. I got almost 2 quarts in the converter but this is where I wanted to ask a question. I have put roughly 6 quarts in already and did a quick check and noticed the fluid level was high but my guess would be the fluid isn't going to be true till the motor is started and I run though some gears to allow the trans pump to move the fluid to the correct locations. Does that sound right? So far no leaks so far. Crank sensor has always been a pain to put in but I have done it before. I will admit I am nervous but being the first time will be that way. Anybody who has done it could maybe give me some ideas of what I need to do and not do would help. Thanks

Yeah, start the truck, cycle thru the gears, then recheck fluid. See where it's at.

Well don't know what to say. I had some slippage along with some odd shifting times and kick down seeming to kick in when I didn't dump the peddle. I am talking driving at 45/50. It would kick down like I was trying to pass. I know the gear level is a smudge off so I can tell what gear by feel. I didn't touch the kick down I did stop at a light heard what sounded like something made some metal sound but I could have missed something and it fell down but nothing huge and I drove a little more and nothing was grinding or any obvious sounds from the transmission. Came home and went through gears and back it up and drove forward with no noises at all. Nothing dripping of any fluids. Does it have to re-learn the transmission after a rebuild? I went step by step and did the air test and everything checked out. RPM's were fine as far as driving at speed. If I am correct if you move the TV cable forward. That delays the shift but if you push it in. That speeds up the shift times. I am going to check the fluid again as well since I put 10 quarts of fluid in ( That's counting torque converter). The only codes I have are for the O2 sensors but I expected that since they are on order. Waiting for traffic to slow down and going to do another test drive and see if things persist. I can adjust TV cable to getting longer shift times and see if the stops the kick down syndrome? Oh when it did slip, I let off the gas and back into and it shifted. The kick down was just weird. Sorry explaining it the best I can.

Probably still low on fluid, and checking the TV cable would be a good idea. Do you have a scanner that can read live data? Would be interesting to see what governor pressure was doing.

I do have a scanner ( Harbor Freight Zurich) that does live data but haven't fully learned it yet. I am thinking the TV cable needs to be adjusted to delay the shift times since it does shift rather quickly so that may solve the kick down issue. I am letting it settle down and going to start it here shortly to re-check the fluid. I am going to google to see if I can see how to use live data on it and how to read it. I will check back here little while and update if anything has changed. I put a piece of cardboard under the truck to see if there any fluid loss. It didn't seem like it and I dealing with going through water holes to get off my road so that doesn't help. Thanks.

When my truck was doing weird things with TCC, it was the TPS that was the culprit. If you moved the gas pedal AT ALL, it would drop out/re-engage..... (about 200 rpm change there) Swapped out the TPS, problem went away.

I just checked the fluid and added a quart so it's in the safe range and did a TV cable adjustment that I remembered from a video I watched and it didn't slip and was running at 1500 at 55 mph. It stopped with the kick down re-acting at the slights gas pedal movement so for not it seems good. It seems to be shifting fine. It was a real long test drive but for a good 5 minutes about maybe 6 miles with stop lights. Way better then first test drive. I will still need to get in there and find out why the shifter is off some. I went to do a manual shift and passed second gear right into drive. It's like I can't fully feel each movement between each selection. Like it has some slop\play that it didn't have before so I don't know if I am going to go back in there this weekend by transmission or check column shifter? The main thing is it's shifting pretty good. Thanks for the help. Now just run it for a week back and fourth and see how everything goes.
Just a side note. My hands were shaking on the first drive so giving the nerves a good test I guess. lol

Check the external linkages first. There are bushings in it that like to wear out.

Honestly, I am sure I didn't set something back like it was. I will work on this weekend.
