I couldn't find anything on the second torque converter. But the first one I got you down to 1600-1800 stall speed. If you want a different stall speed they have many to choose from. 4 year/100,000 mile warranty.

Most people like you or even me are cheap, we like the best price possible for what we NEED. Sure one of the fancy $400-$500 looks awesome for a 400-500+ horsepower engine and beating the hell out of it. Our stock 245 hp and regular driving, even off roading with 35's is enough for 95% of the owners out there. I overkilled upgrades to my transmission that didn't need Upgraded. I put a $150 torque converter in it and the other 4-5 transmissions I've rebuilt in the last 45 years. One Jeep ZJ had 35's, Ford 8.8/D30, lockers, lifted 5.5 inches etc, etc.
Thanks and it looks like they have a place here maybe around 15 minutes from me. I will drive by and try to see this week. Thank you.

That one is non-lockup.

Transtar is about maybe 10 to 15 minutes down the road from me. This will help being close enough to stop by to get a quote and information. The post 3 convertors.
1) $161 with $75 core....Remanufactured, 11.3" Body Diameter, Slotted Hub Type, 4 Mounts, Pad Mount Type, 10" Bolt Circle, 1.81" Pilot Outside Diameter, Ring Gear, 130 Tooth Ring Gear, Red or Green Sticker Codes, 595, 785 Stamped Codes, 2300-2600 Stall, 23 Turbine Splines, High Carbon Clutch Friction Type, Lock-Up
Transmissions:
42RE, 46RE, 47RE, 46RH, 32RH

2) $177 same core charge...Remanufactured, 11.3" Body Diameter, Slotted Hub Type, 4 Mounts, Pad Mount Type, 10" Bolt Circle, 1.81" Pilot Outside Diameter, Ring Gear, 130 Tooth Ring Gear, Red or Green Sticker Codes, 595, 785 Stamped Codes, 2300-2600 Stall, 23 Turbine Splines, High Carbon Clutch Friction Type, Lock-Up
Transmissions:
42RE, 42RH, 46RE, 47RE, 46RH, 32RH

3) $190 same core charge...Remanufactured, 11" Body Diameter, Milled Flats Hub Type, 4 Mounts, Pad Mount Type, 10" Bolt Circle, 1.81" Pilot Outside Diameter, No Ring Gear, White Sticker Codes, 2200-2500 Stall, 26 Turbine Splines, Lock-Up
Transmissions:
42RE, 42RH, 44RE

As you can see. 2200-2500 Stall. Seems most difference is the turbine splines. Both you guys have stated 1500-1800 stall and the trans guy on eBay even said around 1800 stall. This is where I get a little confused and frustrated because I am learning here. I'm trying to complete this in a budget range that has dropped down some. When I googled OE stall. It has a wide range. 1500-2500 RPM. Most stock converters have a stall speed of 1500-2500 RPM, but aftermarket converters can double and occasionally triple that amount.

It's crazy that the rebuild it's self seems easy compared to choosing the parts you need. lol.

Harbor Freight does have a cheap air wrench so even if it's a cheap, maybe at least it will get that top bolt off the starter? Everything I have tried by hand has failed even soaking it with PB Blaster. I can't even see it. My goal is to have the transmission removed by next weekend. I also have to remove the sensor on the top of the bell housing to keep from breaking it. Once out and torn down. I will have a good idea of what may be needed to complete the job right.

I really thank you guys for your time and advice ( which is being taken).

I bought one of the Earthquake impact wrenches from HF, that thing will take off, or break off, any bolt you put it on. (blows up sockets nicely too.....)

Might wanna call around to your local parts stores, and see what they offer for torque converters.....

They didn't have any in stock around here parts stores wise. I also believe they were high stall as well if I remember correctly. I have search so many areas that even I am loosing track.lol. The problem with the starter is getting access to where maybe one could maybe use a breaker bar or pipe for some more leverage. It's not playing nice.

I used my impact, a longish extension, a wobble adapter, and the right size socket. Bump the trigger on the gun a couple times, and the top bolt came right out.

Unfortunately my only impact is way too big to use so either I just have to get it broken loose or be forced to wait a little till I can buy one. We had rain this morning so I wont be able to get back in there till morning. I have to let the ground dry up.

I went back and looked around part store and I did find Oreilys does have them in stock but again with the 2200,2300 stall. Once trans is out and I can start that process. I will look at the convertor and see if I can see any information number wise that will tell me it's spec's. This transmission book I have doesn't give any information at all on convertor. I should get the rebuild kit this week. Maybe if everything works out. I can get it dropped and ready? crossing fingers.

Missed that, but there are 20+ listed or give them a call/email/text it would solve most of his questions. What size tire, gear ratio, 4x2, 4x4, off roading, mud, sand, rock crawling, drifting, 1/4 mile, 1/8 mile, to work and back, to work using the truck on the job, percentage of use on/off road/towing, stock motor, style of driving, slammed/lifted, etc.

It's pretty stock. 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 5.2L 2 wheel drive 5.2/318 Tires are 265/65 R16. Something like that.lol. SLT Laramie. Tires were upgraded size as posted but everything else is as she came from factory. It's a daily driver mostly. I don't have a clue to gear ratio. It seems that in order to get the stall speed you guys speak of. I'm just going to have to call or email to get what I need. You guys see what I am finding so far.
