Transmission rebuild is obvious answer
Here is a good video on the proper TV cable adjustment - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FdJ2LSemTXI
Thank you. I did watch that one before. I did a small adjustment at lunch today and it seems to be doing pretty good. I am just going to run it the rest of this week and see how it does. Sorry to have been a pain in the butt guys. I just wanted to do it right. Than you all for being patience with me. I will say the weird whirling sound is gone so that's a bonus. lol
First gear is fairly deep, and if you aren't loaded, it won't stay in first very long. If you want it to hold the gear a little longer, adjust the TV cable another notch tighter at the throttle body. Just move it one at a time, drive it for a while, see what you think, and adjust as you desire.

Well today coming home was pretty good after re-setting the TV cable back to where video said. Shifts were doing good and decent. Drove about 30 minutes to KFC and pick up dinner drove across the street through a parking lot.Went to hit main road and it dropped like kick down but it clearly slipped real bad 3 to 4 times before I gently drove it home. I am going to let it cool down and check to make sure something didn't break or let loose with TV cable. This is very concerning considering the only real slips that were very light was sitting all night. It would act weird but settle down. This is why I was concerns with the shifting times. I am at a loss here. Once traffic dies down. I am going to run it and see if for some reason this may have been a fluke deal? This is rough since I can't keep missing work but still haven't had the chance to fix the other truck I have. Really bummed out after all the work I have done.
Does the TV cable operate nice and smooth? Mine had a rust accumulation inside it and would cause the inner cable to stick from time to time. I ended up replacing the TV cable and cured my post rebuild shifting issues. Also, is the return spring still mounted on the transmission linkage for the TV cable?

The cable seems to be moving fine when I adjusted it before leaving work. It actually shift better time wise on the way home (20 min). It didn't start this slipping till I left KFC. I noticed after sitting all night, when I get up and go to work. It would act funny on shifting but cleared up within a block or two. Sit all day at work but would act fine other then shift first to second before I was though the intersection at the light. I'm honestly at a loss here. I followed the rebuild video to the T and everything seemed to check out fine. I dropped it off at the transmission shop last week to see if he would do a pressure check and band adjustment for the weird morning slight slip I had but it sat there for a day. After speaking with him. It was clear he didn't want to touch it after rebuilding it on my own. Basically he blew me off. I just couldn't afford a rebuild. So I am pretty much on my own at this point. It's either I need to figure this our or cut some cost by removing it again and having it rebuild by another shop again. I don't have the tools to test everything like they do. To be honest this thread has ran so long that I'm sure some people have stopped reading it. I don't blame them. lol. Being new to transmissions doesn't help a lot. I may call AAMCO here and see if they could maybe help me solve this problem as well as work with me? I need to get this corrected asap.
I had issues after my rebuild where the TV cable would become disconnected from the lever at the transmission from time to time. This would cause consistent transmission shifting issues. After re-installing the TV cable connection at the transmission a couple of times, I realized that the TV cable was acting up and I replaced it. I also replaced the return spring for good measure and made sure it didn't interfere with the movement of the TV cable as it pulls the lever on the transmission.
The other issue I had was with the improper electronics installed in the transmission. After installing the newly rebuilt transmission and road tested things, I noticed that the trans temperature light would come on after less than 5 minutes of driving and the overdrive light on the dash switch would light up. Hard to believe my transmission was overheating after 5 minutes since the check valve was bypassed and I had installed a deep transmission pan that holds 4 extra quarts of fluid. When I raised this issue on this forum, I was asked what year electronics were installed in the transmission. I asked my builder and he told me that he had installed late model electronics since he didn't think it mattered and he had the late model electronics readily available. Once he understood that the late model electronics may have been causing the issue, he ordered the correct electronics and installed them into the transmission to address those two issues.
