Fuel injector cleaning and filter question
I am running this post to get some ideas and opinions. I'm dealing with a misfire as posted but I am looking into doing a good injector cleaning beyond throwing cleaner in the gas tank. I'm looking into getting a injector cleaning kit that you use straight cleaner that uses a compressor. I understand there in a filter basket in the top of the injector that should be replaced since this system doesn't do a reverse cleaning. Those units are pretty expensive even on the cheaper versions. I need to know how to determine what basket and how to get them? They are OEM injectors. When I dropped the fuel tank to replace the pump, It was a little dirty in terms of a couple snail shells , what looked to be a old cardboard cap cover. It was pretty clean. Don't have a clue how any of that made it in there. lol.
If the screens are removable, just clean them. If you really want new ones, talk to a company that specializes in fuel injectors. If anyone can get the screens for ya, they should be able to.
I am fixing to do the tune up. Just so darn hot that going out in it is a pain in the butt but it wont get done if I don't. lol.
That's what I was thinking but every video seems to take them out with a wood screw that damages them. I may pull one and see if there is a way to remove them without causing damage? I would think they there has to be a way.

Been warm, humid, and raining here the last couple days.... need to do some yard cleanup, but, I am just not excited about playin' outside in this weather.

I did do the tune up and even though it's a tad better. The mystery miss is sill there. My guess at this point is injectors. Figure off again Tuesday so I just might get up real early and pull the fuel rail and take a couple out and see if I can remove the filter. If I can, then I can give them all a good cleaning. I'm still going to order the injector cleaner tool this coming week.
In Fla you don't have the wild fire smoke coming down from Canada. This is the second time it happened and it's gota go! Was in the red during the week and it's in the yellow now.

I've done this a couple of times. The screens will be nice and pretty along with a new O-ring. The injector will still be dirty on the inside and the hole/s might be partially clogged giving it a weird spray pattern. Buy a matched set (balanced) of injectors (8) from your favorite auction house. There are a few more steps that they do other than replace the screen and O-ring. They are reassembled with new OEM high quality components (seals, filters etc..), Pressure/Leak tested, Spray/Flow Tested, OHM Tested for electrical shorts, disassembled and externally cleaned. The upgraded ones are 4 hole instead of 1. So why, the 4 hole will give the fuel more atomization. Will you notice the difference, probably not.
