We actually started the pulls all the way down at 2 grand, so I'm not sure why it only starts graphing at 2700. I'm not that surprised by the shape. If you think about it, most dyno charts you see start at 3000-3500, so if you lopped off the sections of my runs before that it would look just as you describe, highest at the start and an immediate decline in torque.

I mean the starting torque number is probably only 10-15 below the peak number. 🤷 Seems like a good truck design to me.

DOH. Looking at the graphs wrong.... Torque curve is ON TOP...... I was tired yesterday.

Can we appreciate I nailed that hp in the first dyno chart. A little optimistic on torque. I won a t-shirt the other day for guessing the exact dyno hp of a raptor r as well. I spend too much time online lol.

Don't feel like the lone ranger there. I am well aware that I spend WAY too much time online. But, I am old, decrepit, and retired. I can get away with it. For the most part......

You did indeed. I was guessing 180, so it was a little better than I thought.

So when I dyno'd my ram I went in with the info for him of lowest speed in 3rd gear you could mash the pedal without it downshifting. For mine 2100rpm was the lowest. If I recall on the 5.9 is it about 2500rpm, depending on kick down cable adjustment. If you can I'd road test that for next time. Just go out on an empty highway OD off and pick a speed, for 4.10s I would start with 60mph, go wide open. If it doesn't down shift, try a lower speed like 55mph, until you find the lowest speed it won't down shift on. Sometimes instead of mashing the throttle a quick roll into WOT will also help keep it in 3rd and keep the converter locked as well.

I just disconnected the TV cable. I was able to go WOT in 3rd at 2000rpm without it downshifting. The wooptiedoo was the torque converter clutch lockup that we finally figured out how to program.

Don't have one. Block has been with the machinist for about 6 months and is slotted to be complete fairly soon. Camshaft is on order but who knows when that will get ground. Plenty of other things to order and do once those are both back in hand. My guess is sometime in the spring.
