has anyone swapped a single cab shortbed 318 magnum to a 360 based 408? if so it would be beneficial to see a parts chart with prices to get some ideas going. just wondering if it has been done and if it is worth it or not. Thanks in advance
what i’ve read is just about the internal and external balances. nothing to helpful about a complete swap. would like to keep oem electronics but open to any ideas.

Many folks have dropped the stroked 360 into their truck, cab configuration isn't relevant. Is it worth it? That depends on what you have in mind. If your truck is 95 or older, stock electronics simply won't work. 96 and newer would require a custom tune. The stock kegger manifold is going to choke a 408 above about 3500 RPM..... best to use something better.... trouble is, not a lot of choices there, if you want to stay with MPFI.... Figure on spending in the neighborhood of 5 to 7K to get it together, and running...... Probably more.

No. Being an 01 complicates matters.... (actually, being a 98 or newer.....) All the gauges are told what to display by the computer via the communications bus. Right down to the gas gauge..... What is the end goal here? What do you plan to use your truck for?
