A while ago when I removed the bed and cleaned/coated the frame with ZeroRust. I found that some of my smaller cross members that supported the fuel tank had rusted out (the rear of the fuel tank was being held up by a ratchet strap at the time). I found a local guy who had a complete Dodge Ram 2nd gen frame that was in great shape for sale on Craigslist. He allowed me to remove the cross members I needed off his frame and I had them welded up onto my frame since I was in restoration mode and plan to keep this truck for some time.

Yeah, I definitely plan on pulling the bed and replacing the crossmembers and doing some rust, remediation and coating

So with some assistance were able to mount some U-channel around the existing damaged areas to support the bed
Now there’s a respectable gap between the support and fuel pump
