I have a 5.9 V8 that has had everything under the hood rebuilt, including the main computer. My current problem is that I cannot get the gauge cluster to display anything. It has power as all of the needles rise and the lights sequence on start up. when I do the gauge cluster test, all the needles move through their ranges and all of the lights work. I can read everything that the gauge cluster is supposed to display via the OBD two port, however I’m not certain what my next move should be. Is there anyway I can get a pin out for this. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Do you get a NO BUS message after a minute or so? Does the CEL stay on along with all the other lights like airbag, low fuel etc?
1998 is the first year for the computer controlled instrument cluster, if the dials don't work with the engine running the cluster doesn't get any messages from the PCM. The later clusters with the green odometer display show "no bus" when this happens, I don't know if the earlier LCD clusters do that as well.

Good point, did '98 not have the green LCD? Maybe it was just more black on gray?
I just went through this on a '00 with green LCD. Pulling the cluster and then just reseating it fixed the problem -- for now. It may reoccur but my only objective was to get it working NOW. I'm working for free for a real mooch on this truck so I don't care if the problem returns.
What I have noticed is that it will show the low gas lights and the emergency brake light as well as the ABS. However the ABS as I am aware of needs to be rebuilt. I don’t notice any codes that come up on the gauge cluster however I can check it when I get back home today. The gates cluster also does not count any mileage anymore. It just stuck at around 130,000 (edit) this truck also has a green odometer that is digital

Ok, just went thru this yesterday on a '00. Try just pulling the cluster and putting it back. I didn't even fully remove it. I just removed the 4 screws, pulled it enough that it unplugged, and set it back, as soon as I did, the voltmeter jumped to life (I had key on -- you kinda have to with an auto to drop out of P), so I knew good things were happening
Note if you want to fully pull the cluster you need to remove the shift indicator wire behind the knee bolster (easy).

I should be at the truck in about 20 minutes so you are saying that I should try and turn my ignition on with engine off, and pull the gauge cluster until it disconnects and push it back in? Would you like me to take a video of that process happening?

I did the odometer check and there were a couple of codes that came up. One being 920, 921, and 999
