Default Passenger Seat Track Help

I have a ‘98 club cab, and the passenger seat quick release does not disengage the lower rail locks. Does anyone have a functioning seat that they can post a picture of the spring set up? How about anyone who has fixed their seat?

If you're talking about the forward/backward adjustment for the seat track, there should be a wire going in between the left and right seat track. If that wire broke or is out of adjustment, it will need to be fixed/replaced so that when the seat adjustment latch is pulled, it will also release the track latch on the other side.

It’s not the track for adjustment, it’s the track for sliding the seat forward for back seat passengers.

This is the part I’m talking about:

It looks like there might be adjustment at the smaller circle. I will have to pull the cushion sometime to get a better look and to clean everything, too.

I'm not much help but as you say pulling the lower cushion is easy. Just 4 bolts and it lifts away.

Coincidentally today as I was finishing up my interior projects and bolting the passenger seat and center console down, I just noticed my lower track doesn't retract by pulling the bar. One more mini-project to do.

Did a quick check and added some lithium grease but wasn't really necessary.

The lower passenger seat slide is not in any way connected to the quick seat release. It is entirely dependent on the passenger seat back being tilted totally all the way forward. As soon as the passenger seat back is moved slightly back to normal position, the lower track locks.

If lower track is the proper terminology, then yes, that’s what I’m after. We’re taking off for a long camping weekend in the truck, tomorrow, so I will have to dig into it when we get home.

I got it fixed. There is no adjustment in the cable, and it had definitely stretched just enough to not totally disengage the locks. I pulled the seat cushion, and there is a white plastic pulley that the cable runs through. It is attached to the seat’s back, and it pulls the cables when the seat is reclined forward. I flipped the pulley so that the cable crosses once, and that shortened it enough to pull the locks.
