Default Lift kit

So I got a parts truck and thew on the 4 inch front pucks on it but when I bought shocks for a 4 inch lift they’re too long and when I try to put my truck on a lift the axle spreads too far from the body causing the spring to be loose and fall out of place any suggestions? I’m looking at just buying shocks for a 2 inch lift so they’re shorter but if it’s a different problem I’d like the support

XJ guys also do internal "cones" so the spring can fall out and then be guided back into place. But you need to be sure full droop isn't tugging on brake/CAD hoses or binding u-joints or causing the front d/s to drag on the trans xmember

4 inches is too much for the stock control arms too.... pulls the axle back too far.

Yes I’ve added aftermarket control arms I just need to figure out the shocks so it doesn’t make it ride so bad and so I can get it aligned also I’m having a weird popping noise coming from my front end on bumps it sounds like something is rubbing hard on something like full metal on metal clunking any ideas on that?

You probably need a longer track bar and possibly drop pitman arm. How many miles are on it? Was the front end inspected for worn/bad components?

Ah, valid point. Forgot about that aspect. Good opportunity to upgrade to an adjustable third-gen style track bar.....

I did forget to mention I did install a new track bar as well but I’m thinking just shorter shocks, they’re on warranty and I can just swap them out for shorter ones and maybe that would help I’m just not sure because also the fact of they might extend too far when not contacting ground and cause unnecessary wear and tear.
