yea that what im thinking where im gonna place the second controler and probe... near the outlet side of the rad... so like you said if the temps is still too high and the 1st fan isnt keeping up then the second one would kick on...and then i could have the second one kick on when the ac kicks on... i dont have anything wired inline with the AC as of now b/c obviously winter time... but when it starts warming up im gonna have to play with it... either way im gonna have total control of the fans..4 master switches..where i can control each fan seperatly... master off for each fan then master on for each fan...

what about useing 2 switches on-off-on (master on-off-on the theromostat) DPST switches i think there called or maby its SPDT yah i think thats what it is im having a brain fart but i think there the 2nd one anyways i have those switches for each set of my lights so i can ither have them on with highbeam-off-master on the only reson i susgest it is so you dont half to have so many switches if your like me i love switches but i was running out of room so i had to make a switch panel and i towned down the amount of switches with those on-off-on ones

i was considering a DPST switch w/ center off... but i thought about it... what i want to have happen is .. the two master offs control absolute off or on by thermo switch... then the other two masters would be absolute on and off at thermo switch control...so yea i sapose i could run 2 DPST switches as apposed to my 4 SPST switches... i already bought them off ebay so i guess ill wire it as is..knowing me ill prolly change it later anyway lol

LOL, I used a link instead of the pic in my post. Where have I been? Lets leave it at, pushin the envelope on how busy I could be. I typed it out but it looked like a Hank post (didnt want to jack the thread)
Anyhow this is what I mean, rest the sensor against the frame of the rad at the bottom. (test location pic) I should take a pic of it before I yank the rad so I have something current.

i should try it in that location... i dont have a lot of clearence on my rad like your fans permit indy... when i built the support for them i did it with close tolerance to the actual rad... covers 97percent of the rad (best guess) and only leaving the top few rows open..ill play aroudn with it to see where the most accurate location is... id REALLY like to devise a way to put the probe instream with the coolant..but avioding leaks is the biggest concern....

i know you can get temp propes that are sealed ans thred in wen i was out on the rigs they had then in all the tanks to moniter temp of what was insidethey screwed in then you pluged the wire in that went to the theromomater i dont know if they make then for an automotive purpose but if you could find one then you could drill a hole and tap it then screw this in any you wouldent have any leaks it would be a pain when drilling thow keeping all the filings out of the rad

check out this site http://www.projectgsx.com/mods/temp_gauges.html its a temp prob for a temp gauge should be the same think and its in the instream hose i think (kinda small pics)

hmm i dont know what size it is just take a flexable tape mesure and wrap it around the rad hose then divide by pie (3.14) if you wanna be real acurate take the thickness of the hose (3/16-1/4 i think) times it by 2 (top and bottem of hose) then subtract it from the first number yah i unserstand where your comming from on the budget from this mod... its gotta be getting up there if you do get that thing then you half to find the theromostat and good luck getting it off that box unles you brush up on your japanese. if you did end up getting 2 new therocontrolers you could put the outher ones back on ebay and sell em or i think there is a for sale fourm somewhere on her isent there
