ok finally got some good numbers for the amps on them fans...
at startup from dead stop for less then a second they draw between 150 to 170 amps. (combined )
i had to test it like 6 times to be able to see them peak right at startup .. its tought to catch...
during normal operating speeds,,, combined they draw a dead nuts 45amps... witch isnt toooo bad...
so in theroy you could divide those numbers in half and see what im dealing with... per fan 85amps at startup per fan.. then a nice cool 22.5 per fan...
what the plan is ... wire them sepratly so they dont come on at the same time (like mentioned above) in the mean time (waiting till summer for the real test) im gonna fab up a single fan shroud and have it ready to swap in just to see if that single fan with a nicely sealed shroud will cool it enough... that should answer most of your fellas questions if 2 16"ers are overfill or now... ill be the testpig again!

hey that sounds like a good plan... 150 to 170 amps thats alot but i could handle that with my dual batts, and 45 wen running well if i do it im prity shure ill use 14' fans unless the one has no problem. i still think id lake to halve 2 in there thow just incace something hapened to one of them at least id still have one to limp home on
yea good point... like i said i wont make up my mind untill summer when i can put it through a good test...
but something did come to mind thought
whats the diameter of the stock fan? i dont have it here so i cant measure it... i know it has 5 blades..
this is like cutting edge scientific research here... but hell if the oem fan is say 16"s and only has 5 blades on it and the degree on the blades are .. guestamate 30 degs in pitch
now i got 2 16" fans with 10 blades each and best guest say the blades are on a 15 deg pitch .. with an S curve
i dunno but i think one of my 16" fans would be about the same as the oe fan.... especially when my fan/s are well shrouded ... prolly better then the stock fan
i dont think rpms matter a whole lot... mainly b/c when the motor is spinning high enough to pull any amount of extra air then it would when your at idle .. your obviously moving faster and the idea of forced air would assist the pull of the fan ...
i dunno..thats the most i can come up with about the cfm on the stocker...
man my head hurts after that!

lol don’t give your self a head ache yah i’m not going to deside till after your done your testing lol your my guni pig I think you are pretty safe in saying stock fan is equal to 1 of your 16 inches.. I cant find anything on the stock one though, I tried Chrysler, and 3 dealerships and no one knows...did they just find a fan out back and say "yah this will do" and stick it on there hoping it was enough... I doubt it the answer has got to be out there somewhere it’s just a matter of finding it and i’m running out of ideas
Another spell checked post for BFG lol

nicley done on the spelling lol
im trying to find a math calculation that you can plug in the diameter of the fan.. the pitch angle of the blades.. the number of blades..and a variable such as rpm.. that could give us a decent idea of what the cfm is... wanna help me look for such said formula?

hey if your bored ryan can you run out and get some measurements of the actual oem fan? i cant b/c my oe one is in the garage at my uncles 30 mins away
yah I have been looking around for some math calculation too i've been trying to find my physics teachers email from school we was super smart when it came to stuff like this and he loves trucks too but I have no idea what it is anymore (I don’t haven’t had the a school email account for 3 or 4 years now). I'll get some measurements of the stock fan tomorrow (its dark and cold outside right now lol)
I’ll get;
# of blades
Angle of blades
Diameter of fan
Length of blade
Width of blade
Wish I could get the weight too but I don’t think I want to take it off to weigh it
Can u think of anything else?
