Default Tires for Off Road Rims

I am looking at getting some 33 x 12.5 x 17 for my truck. Will these fit on my stock off road rims (17 x 8)? The tires say recommended for rims only down to 8.5 inches. Will this be a problem?

I thought the same thing, but does 1/2 an inch make that much of a difference?

i have 17" factory alloys now but the prices and selection for 17" tires suck... and then i noticed selection and prices for 16" tires are alot better... that and the rims im getting are sick!!!!!!

I know what you mean about 17" selection sucking. Sometimes when I am looking I see the selection and prices for 16 inch rims and get a little jealous.
