Cracked Dash? Try this!

Cracked Dash? Try this!
I just installed a coverlaymfg.com (San Angelo, TX) plastic overlay on my 2001 RAM. It looks great and fit perfectly! I have no ties to this company, but their product is really nice.
I silicon glued what I could of the old cracked dash (some large pieces were missing). Let that dry and then installed the coverlay right on top per the directions - just a few dabs of the silicon glue that is included in the kit. Fits almost perfectly and took about 10 minutes to install. Looks like a brand new dash and that horrible squeaking is gone.
So instead of a new dash installed at the dealer for close to $900, I've got a new looking dash for about $145 delivered.
Coveraly tells me they are getting several calls a day from people with 96 to 01 RAMs. Obviously Dodge had a defective vendor, but unfortunately will not do a recall (yet) and won't stand behind their product. Seems that most of the dashes conveniently start cracking just after the 3 year mark.
But if you do this, save your receipt. Dodge says they'll refund your money if they do end up doing a recall.
Only word of warning - make sure you order the right color and go to coverlay direct (you'll save money). Some of their resellers only stock "gray" and there are two colors of gray - light and dark cirrus.
