yeah but it does it sitting still at a low idle too......i changed the crank sensor last nite and knock on wood it hasnt done it yet but i didnt drive very long either....so i will drive it about 30 miles tommorrow and see what it does.....keeping my fingers crossed....lol

sweet!!! keep me informed, i am going to put the VSS sensor on today, i will let you know if it has an affect on the problem. It seems like a good place to start and i appreciate the research everyone has done on this problem. We can kill two birds this way, we will know if it is either of the two sensors causing this within the next two days.

thanks guys

You seem so excited. I would be, too. How many miles do you have on your rig? I'd like to know when I might start seeing stuff like this.

Hooboy ... I'm at just under 86k ... I think I remember putting a set of plugs in it once. Changed the oil 4 or 5 times (running straight synth 5w50 through two big filters). At least I know where to START looking if someting like this rears it's head.

awesome man! i hope you didnt jinx it...hahah. actually i had the sensor put on yesterday and the problem has not happened yet, but i am expecting it to anytime now, just becuase i am so used to it. We will see if it does. If yours does it again let me know and i will let you know if mine acts up as well.

I have 160,000 miles on my truck and it still runs like a champ, with an exception of this problem which hopefully i will have fixed. I have used my truck to pull trailers for most of the time that i have had it, so i have worked the thing but taken care of it as well,so anyone with a low mileage truck can expect to get quite a few years out of it which is definitely nice to know

on the way home from work today my truck did it again, not bad but it still happened.....so it is not the VSS sensor....i will now move to the crank sensor if you dont have any problems out of yours wildwolf. If it has not done it to you over the weekend, than please post that on monday and i will put a new crank sensor on.

thanks

Also, if you want a cheep mod... slot the mounting holes and move the sensor towards the center of the truck, this will add timing across the rpm range and a boost in power... downside is you MAY have a slight loss in fuel economy.

glad to hear your truck is fixed...
