Where did you get those heads? I am curious as they look pretty decent. How much did they run you?

Stabbed the engine today[:@][:@][:@] Major PITA. Took 5 hours before we managed to get the angle right, chain length right, and everything else to work. My sister and my son were a great asset.

My biggest stumper right now is how to install the two brackets for the transmission brace. I know they are mounted above the starter and the dust cover respectively; however, are they supposed to link to the engine mounts??? None of the manuals I have shows a very good illustration. I am still waiting on my water pump and my rebuilt fuel sending unit (with the new fuel pump).

Looks Sweet! but, you have the stock rockers on there... splurge a little and get yourself some rollers, you've worked so hard on that motor, you deserve a little something extra.... I think the harland sharps are non-adjustable and are pretty easy to pop on there... plus they are priced affordably....

from what I see, 1 days worth of work should do it.... so by saturday night at the latest.... we should hear that it's running again?

Steve,

I am a poor, white boy. I splurged on stiffer springs and better valves. I can't afford pricey rockers. Maybe when I tear down the transmission I can do it at that time. Either way, am pleased I am getting things buttoned up. I may need some members to give me some shots of their engine bays, because I can't remember where everything goes! I was smart in that I labeled all of the bolts and where they came from, so that has helped. It's the wiring that will (slightly) befuddle me.

In any even, if someone could PLEASE provide some snapshots of the transmission braces I would greatly appreciate it. I might hit the car lots today and look at some of the trucks there. No dealerships are open on Sunday.

well, at least you'll be good to go with a fresh motor when the roller rocker time comes.... they are an awesome mod.

here are some shots that I have... everything else I have is of ripping the motor down. hope these help in some way.

I swung by a Dodge dealership today and saw how the transmission braces go. I will update you all at the end of the week when I get some more accomplished.

Oh, I bought some Grade 8 bolts for the intake (dealership was out) and I needed to know if washers are required. Also, I noticed that APS Precision includes Locktite in its kits. Do you all recommend that as well when I secure the plenum plate?

Use the locktitie and torque in two steps down to specs by sequence....basicly you start with the middle bolts and work your way to the outside at the same time...like torquing an intake.

I didn't get an APS kit. My truck already had the plate installed when I bought it. I lost the bolts and am replacing them with new ones I bought at a hardware supplier.
