I'd say fuel pump, or your not getting spark. Check those 2 things first.

one sign of a bad pump is to turn your key to the on position (dont start it) listen for the whirring sound coming from the gas tank. that noise is your fuel pump.
whats the year of your truck?

you might have a valve with a plastic cap on your fuel rail to the right of your throttle body. You could stick something in there and it should spray fuel out.

Welcome to Hell, bro. Sorry... as far as your truck, I'd do the fuel pump whine test first (have someone turn the key while you listen), and then ground a plug wire thru a screwdriver to the frame and check spark. Then check the fuel rail, but the gas pressure tends to bleed off when its sitting.

Check to see if you can hear the fuel pump. If you can then I would check you coil wire and coil itself.

aiight, went back 4-5 hours alter to see if it would magically start and no dice, this time it didn't even sputter for the 2-3 seconds i was getting earlier... i had a friend turn the key to the on position and i didn't hear a noise coming from the tank... not any noise at, but having never heard a fuel pump's "noise" before its possible it may have been working... unless its a loud distinguishable noise....

i think i might take off the alt and get it tested just to make sure it isn't that part...
