Default Plenum Pan Gasket

What happens to the oil that ends up in the plenum pan from a defective gasket?

It gets sucked into the heads and then the cylinders. Pretty basic question that could have been answered by using the search function.

I'm not trying to be a dick, but c'mon its obviously a common problem on our trucks, so I am sure there is plenty of information to be found by using the search function.

I have to agree. It seems like this question is posed every few days. I lurked on this forum for a couple of weeks before posting any questions, and read many threads to conclude what some of the common problems and the appropriate fixes are. Over on the VW forum, this topic would have been locked in a heartbeat, or, the person who posted the question would have been flamed into oblivion for not searching.

well what makes this forum great and different from the rest is the willingness to help others. when I 1st started visiting the forum I had a hard time using the search and never really found what I was after.

I think it would be best if members DONT want to see repeating threads, dont open them. it will save you the time to go read the other threads you are interested in.

remember, you dont have to read every thread... its your choice.

Steve, I agree with you, to a point. Help is great and God knows you've helped me both on and off the board; however, searching is not that difficult. Like I said, I made it a point to read and skim throught the board when I first got here to become familiar with the inherent issues of the Ram trucks.

Well I atleast had the courtesy to answer his question. I didn't just bitch at him for not using search and now he knows it is there, I would like to see people read a little before posting but I'm not going to be an *** about it. I had lots of stupid questions when I first started and using the stickies and the search function answered alot of those beat to death questions. I guess I would have felt a little different about it if it wasn't a beat to death topic but there are plenty of links to the TSB that explains what happens to the oil in the plenum gasket. Alright I'm off my soapbox now.
