285/75 R16's are the equivelent of 33" tires. the problem with ebay is sometimes they are used ane once you change the tire beed it can be difficault to balance them. However all manufactures sell cheeper versions of their name brand, you can try Sam's Club,Wal Mart, Sears a local discount tire store and probable come up with a new set of rubber for cheap. If you ask for 33" tires though you'll pay through the nose so ask for the metric equivelent. You can also by the speedo gear from mopar for under ten bucks.

A 2500 can fit 285/75/16's (33") without any lift. With a 3" lift on your 2500, I would not put anything less than a 35" tire on it or it's going to look too small. I think the 2500's have a 8" rim standard, so you could easily put a 315/75/16 on your stock 2500 rims and have ample clearance for 35's with your 2500 and a 3" lift.
As far as cheap.....Buckshot Mudders are cheap on E-bay. I think the last time I saw them they were under $600.00 for 4 Buckshot mudders in a 315/75/16.

The first # in the metric measurement is the width. The second number is the aspect ratio (% of width = sidewall height). You need both those numbers plus the rim size to get the equivalent tire height in inches. 285/75 16 equals 32.8" or 33's 305/70 16 also equals 32.8. The metric way doesn't give you a direct tire height number. I know I have a tire calculator site saved to my favorites http://www.differentials.com/calc.html to make it easier to figure out. Who the hell wants to do the math.[:'(]

nhlbill is correct, on a 2500 you should be able to clear 35's no problem, anything smaller will look funny. And 285's are roughly 33 and 305s are roughly 35s

Larger tires will hurt your gas mileage. More weight, more inertia to overcome more gas.
