I was installing a CD deck in my truck and now the illumination lights inside the cluster don't work. I pulled the cluster and inspected the bulbs and they appear fine. The fuses (CLUSTER A & B) are fine too. I turned the dimmer too but the lights never came back on. I have a feeling it has something to do with my stereo installation. All other components of the cluster appear to be working (needles, CEL, ABS, etc..). Thanks for any help.
I'm having the same problems in my 98 Durango I have replaced the switch twice and replaced the pigtail behind the switch once. so far I believe it might be the CTM but then again not really sure how that would be effecting the illumination and the parking lights but the cluster illumination does work with the parking lights and everything when I pull the switch between off and parking lights and parking lights and headlights but then heat builds up and burns out the switch.
What wires did you use to bypass?

No need for a pic, it's just a plastic clip that covers the fuse. It's a PITA to get out. Just pull while maybe using needle nose to compress the top and bottom. If that doesn't work, then just tear it out. Sounds to me like it is the bad fuse.
