I'm new to this forum, although I've been a MOPAR truck fan for many years. I used to have a '66 W200 and it was great fun working on it. It went to a new owner many years ago, but now I have a '94 RAM 2500 4x4 with 5.9L mill and 5-speed manual shift. There's an outfit selling through eBay that has two kits, both Alloy USA. One is the PSL400 being discussed here; the other is a Differential Cable Lock P/N 450400. The components look very similar, but the PSL400 has a few extra items. I called the seller "oconeeoff-road" and the he told me that they were pretty much the same thing. OK, but they don't have the same description. Can anyone here give me a bit more information? The Buy It Now prices seem to be pretty good, $122.45 for the 450400 and $126.39 for the PSL400, both with free shipping.

They both look like exactly the same thing to me.

I'm a big fan of this mod but I wish the cable came up through the floor and mounted to the transfer case lever. This was you could reach down with one hand and pull/push the cable and move the lever at the same time.

W8 - I don't see why you couldn't do it that way? Granted you would have to deal with alot of extra cable, but you could maybe cut it or find somewhere to wrap it all up and put some ties around it?

OK, then what are the extra parts for (see images in attached file)? The first iamge is the one I can't seem to find any additional or comparative information on. Is it possible that this is an older kit and Alloy USA just changed the name for marketing reasons?

I am going to bet that they both come with pretty much the same parts, just displayed differently.

Cable (obviously )
Housing.
Gasket
Fitting for vent tube.
4x4 electrical switch. Evidently different than the stock one?
cable bracket, and hardware.
E-clips for shift fork. (re-use your fork)
Some nuts/bolts that I can't see very well.
And of course, zip-ties to hold the cable out of harms way.

On the top pic, the only parts 'missing' that you see in the bottom pic, are electrical connectors, that in the top pic, are already on the switch.

Both kits are indeed complete, with everything you need.

So if you install the posi lock do you still have the regular open diff? Or will it be fully locked diff when engaged?

It'll still be whatever you have. This is just a shifter.
