The truck Dodge should have built
Dude, I like the looks under the hood! IF that tray is removable, that would make it easy as he!! to change fuel pumps. I cant wait to hear what that beast sounds like. What do you have to integrate with the "dodge" side of the truck, and how is that goin?
I just replaced the pump with a pickup tube.
Just too darn much work.
Today I went into my local dealer to have the "remanufactured" front control module programed with my VIN and options.
They cant reprogram them anymore! So I have bought a unit that cant run my truck!!
The company who sold it to me said it would come with my VIN programed in but it still had the original trucks VIN.
It does all the basic stuff but I have errors in all the other modules because of VIN # Mismatch.
I do have speedo, temp gauge and fuel gauge, really all I need for now.
Boy the OE's sure have this stuff sewn up. Can't even install used parts anymore. $1200 for a new one.
Truck is nice to drive and I don't feel any noticeable increase in front end weight.
Still have to have the Cummins ECM re flashed as its in limp mode.
It's looking for the Alison automatic that is no longer there.
If this is limp mode I should be very impressed when it gets full power.
The clutch is incredibly hard to push because of the monster South Bend pressure plate so I'm working on some options to help with that.
Some ordinary and some pretty cool. I'll let you know which worked out.
It is VERY quiet!
Very little diesel rattle and even with the 3" exhaust its a quiet truck inside and out.
Maybe even too quiet.

Are these sort of projects EVER done?
Still have to make the Dakota ECM happy so the dash warning lights all go out.
The company that I got the "re manufactured" FCM from that Chrysler says wont work in my truck says they just forgot to wipe the old Vin and install mine so it's heading back to them on Monday to have that done.
Hopefully that will eliminate many of the dash warning lights.
Still have to change the clutch system so I can push it without pulling a muscle and then its on to the tube side rail/steps so the family can get up into the truck.
Lots of little finishing details like lining the under seat box and then ******* it with some aluminum angle.
Still need a front drive shaft spacer so I can get the front shaft back in.
Have an oil pressure gauge coming to fill the last hole in the pillar pod.
Get the 5th wheel hitch installed and some rear airbags.
The big deal was getting the engine to perform properly and now that that's done it's on to the little stuff.
