Have not started the Dakota side yet.
I do have the Cummins ECM up and running and will tackle the Dak stuff in the next week or so.

Are you gonna use the stock instrument gauges?

Where did you come across this motor?

The engines come in three ton GM Workhorse chassis amongst other things.
I searched big truck wreckers till I found one.
It had low miles on it and came with the harness and throttle pedal, its drive by wire just like the Dakota.
I was going to try and use the Dakota throttle but the Cummins one bolted into the same place with a small amount of modification.
I got the triple gauge pod wired up today with a Boost and Pyro along with the Cummins warning and diagnostic lights.
I'm hoping the stock cluster will work but as a fallback I can do the same as I did with my 99 Dakota / Isuzu 3.9L conversion and just build a new cluster with aftermarket gauges.

Tonight I got the under-seat storage tray riveted in.
Its about 5" deep over the fuel tank and 7" deep over the drive shaft and muffler by about 11" wide. I do have a 3" body lift so this would not have so much room on a stock truck.
Holds my yellow top Optima battery and lots of room for all the stuff that used to store on the floor.
Sure be nice to not have all that stuff on the floor.
The box is welded up from 1/8" aluminum and bedded down with Sikaflex then riveted into place with stainless rivets.
I still have to undercoat the bottom and seams and then carpet the inside but at least the big hole in the floor is sealed up.

One of the almost finished engine compartment and one of the truck before the front bumper was installed after work tonight.
Its finally starting to look like a truck again.
I re insured it and hope to get it to a Cummins dealer next week for some ECM tweaking, MORE POWER!!

Very nice my fellow swapper. Did you ever think of adding a small access panel to that cubby you made, right over the fuel pump?
