Default Ceramic vs. semi-metallic

Brakes that is. Was running ceramic pads and noticed really dirty all the time from brake dust. Did a brake job today back to semi-metallic and cannot wait to see how nasty they get. What are your thoughts on this?
Thanks,

I put some good quality semi-metallics on last year. Brake dust has been about the same as stock pads.

I had thought when I bought the ceramic pads that I would have less dust, that was according to the description but seemed to be more. Will have to wait and see if the new pads, semi, are worse, better, or the same.

Were they Akebonos? Just curious because if I decide to replace the front brakes this was the brand I was going to go with because they have a reputation for less dust.

Glad you brought this up... Last weekend my driver side caliper finally seized up on me and had to go, went ahead and replaced both at the same time, unfortunately didn't have enough dough at the time to get new pads (please don't start, I know I should have replaced them, but I think from the caliper seizing up my rotor is warped to sh** and gonna have to go anyway). Regardless, I'm looking at getting new pads.

Way back when...when I first re-did brakes, I got a set of drums, shoes, semi pads, and slotted dimpled rotors from www.brakeperformance.com Got referred there from guys here on the forum.

If I gotta do my pads, not sure if I'm gonna go with them again or not... Saw a thing on their website about a "life time" warranty on the rotors I bought... Emailed them over the weekend and still havent heard anything back.

Although pricey, I've hear a lot of good things about EBC brakes...what about you guys?

Same here. My ceramics produce less dust and noise compared to semi-metallic.

Hey Thanks C-Burger (just saw your reply to my query). Have had a busy week, but I did finally get an email from them. Was told first step is to find my old order number...pretty sure I still got the invoice in my "Truck Stuff" file, hopefully this weekend I can find it and get the ball rolling. Honestly, brakes feel decent after getting new calipers and ceramic pads...but my rotors are starting to look like crap (especially as I clean up more and more of other rusted parts). Hope it ends up being as simple as you said.
