RE: Question about TB and TBS
IDK when I took my truck in to get looked at the labor fee was over $50 an hour... Of course it was under warrenty so I didn't pay a dime... but if a tech is making even Half that an hour on warrenty work than I'm gonna quit my job and start workin' at a dealership...

RE: Question about TB and TBS
we have heidelberg press mechanics that make close if not more over 100 an hour. but heidelberg itself charges the client anywhere from 300 to what ever an hour. depending on the machinery and the job that needs to get done. most truck or car mechanics make between 25-30 an hour. depending on the involvement of there job. the guy who rotates tires and does alignments 25.00 the guy who tears into the block 30.00

RE: Question about TB and TBS
yeah most mechanics in this area are flat rate...I know my guys are...they get paid by the Job hour not actual time they work on it...ok example
Say a brake job pays 2.2 Hours. they spend 1.0 hours getting it done they still get paid 2.2 hours to do it.
warranty motor replacement pays 8.1 hours on a 4.7L dakota 3rd GEN!
If the motor wasn't covered under warranty it would pay like 15 hours.
so if they spend like 12 hours on a warranty motor replace they would only get paid 8.1!
so it has its up and downs but for the most part my guys stay happy!
