Athreadon another Forum stated that the Jet Chips will be bypassed by the PCM after running 500 miles even if you reset the PCM, and you have to reset the PCM every 300-500miles. Just wondering if this is true.
I've heard the samething, but I never have believed it. Your best bet is to just spend the money to get the PCM reflashed after you get some mods on it.
I've had both stages of the Jet Chip and I did feel a difference in the truck. Way more responsive on take off and a little bit more mileage on the highway.
For the PCM, you can send it to either TheFastman.com or to KRCPerformance. Get the mods done that you want first, then get the flash.
Thanks for your input. I went ahead and ordered the Stage II. I've already done the exhaust mod and air intake mod. I'll let you know how it does when I install the stage II.
Any idea on how much it costs to get flashed. It may seem like a better option if you can find a junkyard PCM and send that for flashing and keep your stock in the back pocket for dealer trips. Not only that Fastman & KRC should be able to program the flashed PCM better with your known mods than a individual preset by JET.
That would be nice to get a "junkyard" PCM. I'm not sure how much that would cost along with getting it flashed. It just seems like it's too much of a headache and cost going that route. I just don't understand why superchips, hypertech, or even jet don't have a programmer for our trucks.
