It's rated at 19 MPG I think. The logical choice for Dodge is a Hemi Dak

Not likely though, a Dakota is already a Ram drivetrain in a smaller body and smushy suspension.

Well it now has one thing going for it, the engine doesn't suck. Still wouldn't drive one, I can't stand how they look and there isn't much else about them that impresses me either. The one thing that does annoy me is they will be getting much better mileage than we are, that engine pulls ~18-20mpg mostly city/some highway in the Silverado (I know, my friend drives one). In those tiny rattleboxes it will do even better.

Yeah the Vortec 5.3. I'm not sure what transmission is behind it.

I imagine it will be this one, same as the Silverados, it's 325ci and it will move that Silverado around quite impressively. He's got the Z71 package which comes with the auto-locking rear diff, he's never had any trouble getting it to break the tires loose.

By the way mikset, what brand and how much was that bed cap? It makes the truck look good.
Thanks, it's a Leer cap. It was already on the truck when I bought it last spring so I'm not exactly sure the price on it. I think I looked it up after I bought the truck and it was around 1000.00. I gotta have a cap to haul around my three legged dog.

The model I have is a 100R. If I would have bought it, I probably would have gotten the 100XQ. It has frameless windows, which I think looks better. I may go see the local Leer dealer and see if they would work out a trade.

Barf indeed.

I park next to a Canyon Z71 every day, and this thread has made me dislike it more. I have included an illustration highlighting these recent points:

Mine truck has to park next to one that sits in the driveway everyday too... Same color as the one you have pictured. Ugly *** green, and it looks small compared to my animal
