I lost one of my keys today, I guess it walked away. I still have one, but the remote door lock buttons don't work. Will it set off my panic alarm if I use it to unlock the door the old fashioned way? If it does how do I stop it? And how do I get another one? Thanks
Umm if you have the Mopar Security System and it is activated, unlocking it with your keys "the old fashioned way" will set it off, only if its activated which you cant do with out the fob. So if you lock it with out the fob you'll be fine.
I would check the local dealer. Its probably gonna be pricey... let us know how ya make out.
First night I had the thing, I unlocked it the old fashioned way, and the horn starts honking and the lights start flashing. I got all that to stop by pushing the panic button on the fob...I think that's what I did. Don't they have to program the keys or something?

Yeah you are right, thats how ya get it to start without deactivating it and to stop with the panic button...haha I have done it before. Gets the whole neighborhood looking Yeah the keys have a transponder chip in them, and if you try an unprogrammed key it'll start and shut right back down in a few seconds. If you had two transponder keys that were programmed you could do the programming yourself, but with just one you have to go to the dealer Good luck man hope this all helps
When I first bought my truck, used, it only came with one FOB key. Of course that key was lost after a short time, and somehow a locksmith was able to create a new on within three minutes. The keys I now use are simple blanks, no chip, no nothing. Again, origianlly I had the FOB key, but it didn't matter for my truck
Yeah if you dont have the Mopar Security System, but just the keyless entry fob keys, you dont need to have the keys programmed. Its only for the keys that have the Mopar Security System fob. They practically look the same, but arent internally.
I have a bypass in my truck for my remote start. I had to have a key to put in it, so I went to home depot, got on of the blank gray sentry keys (like frenchy said)
Since I had both original keys I was able to program it myself and save the estimated 180 bucks from the dealer...
