I posted this in another thread. What about making some sway bar end links from Spherical tie-rod ends. Should be pretty easy to so, and very trick. Found this link, I know nothing about them. http://bulletproofsteering.com/rodendspecs.html

That's what I was thinking, mprohr. Trust me though, the TRX has a noticeably stiffer front end than a standard GenIII Dak.
I'd hate to have a non-TRX4 then.. 3 bounces is standard on mine. Like a waterbed. The level kit did nothing for the wallowing front end. Shocks have been replaced twice by the dealer now. No more swaps they say, just nature of the beast.

Ranchos sometime later this Spring.

2k8's apparently have a stiffer spring/strut setup I understand.

TRX: Were they able to align it to spec after the level kit install or have you done that yet?

No alignment yet. Next month after I put it on the road for summer, I'll do the alignment and the tire/air sensors swapped out in one visit. On the front end... my 05 was pure MUSH. Like freggin' TIGGER.... Bouncy bouncy, trouncy trouncy, fun fun fun fun fun.... The 08 felt stiffer but still too soft. The leveling kit made it pefect. Not too harsh, and no mush. Keep in mind.... I only have 500 miles on it (I put it up for winter) so I'm sure it will break in some this summer.

I want to add that I had a 2004 Durango Hemi Limited. The front end had always been a little mushy and bouncy. When turning across a small rain gutter in the road you'd get whiplash. It was pretty bad.

I installed some new KYB shocks and they helped a little but not much. It still wasn't what I thought it should feel like. Then I decided to raise the height of the front end about 1.5" by turning the nuts on the torsion bars. Not to affect the ride but just so that I could take it up some trails. The front was still a tad lower than the back but the difference it made in the front ride quality was impressive. No more bouncy bouncy and the whiplash effect was reduced by half. It was firm but not stiff by any means. It felt so good I wonder why Dodge didn't do this in the first place.

The more forums I read for the Dakota the more I see that leveling out the front end helps with the bounce/mush. My '08 now has a little over 3000 miles on it and the front end boings over the bumps and when I towed a 2800lb. trailer the front end was liking a freaking bucking bronco. It does settle down quickly but I just don't like the feel of it.

I 'will' be installing some sort of leveling kit soon with the hope that it has the same effect as increasing the front ride height on my Durango.

That's probably the difference although 2k8 have apparently a bit stiffer front end, yours is low mile and mine has about 18k on it, but 2 1/2 years old.

The kit I put on doesn't seem to have made any difference in front end action, although it looks much nicer and not like a car with a truck bed now.

I counted yesterday , there is one place you come up onto a bridge and after you hit the expansion joint and get on the bridge, UP, DOWN, UP, DOWN, UP settle down... It's just like riding on the springs alone.
