Ok.... had spare time today. Installed the 2" leving kit, then the new wheels and tires I bought months ago. 2 problems:

#1 Stock was 265/70/16. I used 265/75/16 MTZ's and they rub BAD! What's the answer there? Sawzall a corner of the inner well off?

#2 Stupid tire pressure sensors. Didn't even know I had them in the Dak, so now I got ding ding ding ding going on?

Suggestions please???

wheres the rub? if its just the front id use zip ties and pull the well in to the frame and i cut the back mudflap/flare straight down on mine with some tin snip type cutters...dont go crazy it only takes a little trim to get the tire to clear when at full lock...you wont ever notice unless you point it out to someone....

as for the sensors, pull the fuse, but the idiot light will show on the dash board.

Can you post some before/after pics of your kit and wheels? We always like to see those

Ok.... got the rub fixed. My daughter came home, so I had her inside turning the wheel. It was in the FRONT INSIDE of both wheel wells. I cut an inch off diagnal with a sawzall, cleaned up with an angle grinder. You'd have to be a rocket scientist to find it. Can't tell.

Next... I'm being told by a buddy in auto service that there is no fuse for tire sensors, and can't be over ridden. I find this hard to believe. I checked the fuse box, if it's there I have no idea how its labled. Any ideas? This is an 08.

Ok, heres a few pics, but weather is awful here. 1st, stock tires, no lift. 2nd, stock tires WITH lift. 3rd & 4th new tires/wheels WITH lift. 5th, just thought I'd toss in my Rhino Liner and BedRug.

Looks good! I'm running the same size tires you are and I only get a tiny bit of rubbing at a certain angle but it's not enough to bother with. Your tires have a much more aggressive tread than mine though so I'd imagine that's why yours rub more.

What leveling kit did you use? any issues or notes on the install for a fellow trx4 owner?

Man that looks great. Awesome. It must be the new wheels that are causing the rub. Backspacing or somthing. Either way, that sh*t looks awesome.

Nice truck man. I've gotta say, I wish you had those tires on the stock rims. I've always had a hard time warming-up to tri-spokes. I do dig the bed rug.

Damn Dirty: The kit I used was one of those solid aluminum blocks for $89.00 on Ebay. It was an easy install. On the wheels.... I started a thread a few months ago with 2 wheels to choose from. Everyone voted for the other wheel, so I went with these to be different. The rub issue was easily resolved and not noticable at all. The aggressive lugs on the tire are what was rubbing on a full turn. All better now.

Does anyone know a way to disable that darn tire sensor? Fuse? Relay? Cut a wire?

If I can't get that issue resolved, I may have to try breaking down both sets of tires and see if can install the sensors on the new wheels. I may check the stealer to see how much the sensors are too.
