Default Spark plugs

Okay, so how hard is it to change the plugs one one of these trucks?

I looked under the hood and I couldn't even see where they are located.

I also wonder what they look like after 80K...

Yeah, the dealer informed me that they should be changed every 30K.

You have eight coils that look like this


Under them are the spark plugs.

Oy, I'll have to look for those tomorrow when it's daylight. Which means when I get to the lot after work, before I drive home. Seems they were right on top, not the sides, like plugs used to be, correct?

Which leads to the next question: What plugs to use?

they are fairly easy to change. you have to remove the air intake box and loosen and lift the brackets for the AC tubes. Then you unclips each plug from the coils and then lift the coils. Do one at a time removal to replacement so you don't forget one.

Dont feel bad I felt the same way when I heard they where not in there normal spot whats up with that.. I felt like a dummy thinking dang I dont even know how to change the plugs on my own truck, I guess this dog needs to learn new tricks LOL.. I still haven't done it yet but hope to learn from this thread.. Cya Slick

No Air Intake box! Changed that to a K&N CAI long ago!

But lift the AC tubes? Now that's kinda interesting...

ya i never ended up changing those plugs under the ac lines started to get cold and didnt bother probally should this summer

Don't forget to blow out the plug holes with compressed air or something before you remove the plugs from the block.

i changed all of them but the two under the ac lines was lazy it was cold
