CAI input.
I'm looking to get a cai and I came accross blinglights.com and was wondering what your opinions were on it. Are the name brands realy better or just more expensive? Where would be the best place to go to get the best price on one? I can't believe they are as high priced as they are, thats when I came accross the blinglights and it looks decent to me but I'm not a big wrench head. Thanks for any and all input.

I sw it on ebay. They have 1 for the 3.7. I was just wondering if there was that much of a diff. in design between them and k&n. To me it looks about the same. I know that there seems to be some doubt about ebay stuff but, if I can save money and it does the same thing then, why not try it out. To me it would be like going to the store and getting store name stuff as opposed to paying more for name brand when the resault is the same. Just a thought and maybe if they work they might start to get a decent rep. I would realy like to get some good thoughts about this and other off brand stuff. Thanks. ...Guy..

Oh well i guess. Should have just done the k&n from the start years ago. I did put my Fastman throttle body on today and got a magnaflow exhaust last week (to replace the crappy " custom " i had welded in years ago with a flowmaster) What a difference!! The exhaust and k&n made a world of difference. Its like a new truck.

The main thing to remember with the ebay CAI's...
There isnt a heat shield, so your sucking in a lot of engine bay heat.
that chrome is pretty looking, but heat soaks and increases intake charge temps. (header wrap can help with that)
The filters that they use, are one step above junk. They dont flow great, and are usually not rechargeable.
If you can get a great deal on it, I say go for it. but when it comes time to replace the filter, look for a universal K and N or airraid on ebay for cheap.
It "should" still flow better than the restrictive stock setup, so you hopefully will see an improvement in throttle response.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do. Get some pics for us!
