Default CAI input.

I'm looking to get a cai and I came accross blinglights.com and was wondering what your opinions were on it. Are the name brands realy better or just more expensive? Where would be the best place to go to get the best price on one? I can't believe they are as high priced as they are, thats when I came accross the blinglights and it looks decent to me but I'm not a big wrench head. Thanks for any and all input.

I don't see a cold air intake listed for a Dakota on that webpage Fenway. What did you search to find one on blinglights website?

I sw it on ebay. They have 1 for the 3.7. I was just wondering if there was that much of a diff. in design between them and k&n. To me it looks about the same. I know that there seems to be some doubt about ebay stuff but, if I can save money and it does the same thing then, why not try it out. To me it would be like going to the store and getting store name stuff as opposed to paying more for name brand when the resault is the same. Just a thought and maybe if they work they might start to get a decent rep. I would realy like to get some good thoughts about this and other off brand stuff. Thanks. ...Guy..

I like K&N FIPK and CAI kits. My favorite are Airaid. I use an Airaid filter on the blower and it performs flawlessly.

I had an airaid, the filter ripped (at the bottom , the rubber tore) the box rusted and i never cared for how it mounted on the top of the old airbox. I got a k&n now and i love it.

That sucks man. I actually molded the Airaid box into a functional ram-air box for the hood. I still have it and it has never let me down. Good to hear the K&N worked for you.

Oh well i guess. Should have just done the k&n from the start years ago. I did put my Fastman throttle body on today and got a magnaflow exhaust last week (to replace the crappy " custom " i had welded in years ago with a flowmaster) What a difference!! The exhaust and k&n made a world of difference. Its like a new truck.

Let me ask you this. If you picked up a chick at a bar, would you use a Trojan or a Snickers wrapper?

Just because one option is cheaper and technically accomplishes the same thing doesn't mean it's the ideal choice.
