I am going to wait till spring time to run it again, and I ll do some prep work before hand. I need a flat clean road too... I made two passes and the first one I f-ed up, it rolled alittle before I launched... So my first ever run making a 8.8 with wheel spin, I didnt think was too bad

I think I've already proven my truck can pull a pretty good load (See the thread "Pulled a Deuce" if you need proof), and I find it fast enough for normal driving. It's unfair to call it strictly a work truck when it is perfect for many other applications.

If I can figure out the performance meter portion of my Cortex, I'll try and find somewhere to do a 0-60 run.

Whats the best way to launch when doing this. Do you want to get on the gas a little bit while still on the brake, but not enough to make the wheels turn so the tuner doesnt think you are starting? And do you just want to punch it from a dead stop, or get on it and then put the pedal to the floor after having traction?

Its under additional features. There is data logging and also a part where you can monitor your truck live (rpms, temps, pressures). You have to download the software first though to the tuner to do it.

I'll have to sit down with it tomorrow and play with it. I got it tuned and was too excited to figure out the rest of it. I wanted to DRIVE!

Back in Jan I did some 0-60 runs. I have the 3.55 gears and the heavy *** 265x60x18's. Only mods are a new exhaust, new intake and the 3865. Oh, and I live above 5000 feet.

91 Tune = 8.81s (with some wheel slip)
91 Tune = 8.61s (with no wheel slip)
93 Tune = 8.41s (no wheel slip)

And that's winter gas also. I'm going to retry it in the late spring once we switch over to summer gas.

With 3.92's or 4.10's I bet you could dip down into the 7 second range. And then get lighter wheels and tires and go with an electric fan and maybe be in the mid 7 second range.

The 2008 4.7s have more power from the factory than the 05-07's, correct?

when i first got my sc after all the stuff was done to the truck , i did some 1/4 mile times out in the street, but my best was one night on the interstate. about 55 degrees out. 91 octane tune. but had some 114 left over in the tank from the weekend grudge match at the track.

60 ft 2.153 pretty quick out of the whole
1/8 mile was 9.443 sec. kinda slow
1000 ft was a good 12.3 secs. now were moving
1/4 mile a wopping 14.7 sec.

was happy, very happy. now with the zex kit an the sct tune. i am running 1 second quicker in the 1/4 mile. there is still room for improvement. drag radial rerally hook up on the street

Oh definitely. But it seems as if they make it much higher up in the RPMs. The 08+ Dakotas have 300HP and the 08+ Rams have 310HP. And then if you look at the dyno sheets on the stock engine, it's like a roller coaster which is just plain odd.

So if I add an octane booster to my gas, will that give me more performance? Does it have any negative affects to the engine?
