Here is the front on my truck with the 2" Daystar leveling kit and the P.A. 3" body lift. I need to look at my CV's and see if I can add some to it like Trucker did. That extra inch on the front looks pretty good, but if wear is a problem then it's not worth it.
good pics no rubbing issues with bumper and stock front flares? do you have wheel spacers installed?
I have frame rubbing issues with the stock wheels. I am going to get spacers this year, not sure what size I am going to get. Either 1 or 1.5". I had to trim about the same amount as Trucker on the fender well. The clearance needed for the front bumper is fine, but the liner needs to be tied forward with some zip ties. Then it's good.

I tend to agree with you. I have been waiting for a proper suspension lift to come out like the rest of you. There is a 2nd gen in my work complex with a Rancho 3" suspension lift. I have to park beside him some day and do some comparing and measuring to see what would need to be done to it to make it work on our trucks.
the front shocks are torsion keys with shock not coil over completely different set up though how hard would upturned be to swap IDK I see lots of lifted second gens
