Default Dakota 2011 End?

Is it true that the Dodge Dakota will end production 2011? I saw a couple of sites stating that the Dodge Dakota will be replaced by a compact Dodge truck.

True? no gen 4?

Anyone have thoughts on the Dakota 2011?

My thoughts are disappointment that Dodge would end such a great truck.

I thought it was 2013, but I could be mistaken. For some reason there is no love for the Dakota. They would sell more Dakotas than Rams if they put a Hemi in it Im sure, but Dodge is afraid it would kill Ram sales.

nah from what i hear the whole reason is the dak is too close to the price range of the ram and other full sizes, plus the mpgs are close, so they arent making that much money off the daks, they wanna make a compact truck based off a car chassis or subframe thing which would suck

Angry

If Dodge would just put a diesel engine in a Dakota I bet their sale would shoot up higher. If I was CEO of Dodge I would continue with Dakota production but still enter the compact truck class so that way there would be a Dodge truck in every size. And I would hate to see that piece of sh*t Toyota Tacoma be midsize king.

We keep seeing rumors about this but nobody actually knows yet. Hopefully they will be smart and keep it.
