OOh ok, yeah I think that might be your truck specific haha... I don't know about anyone else on here but I actually took my truck on an offroad course made for jeeps 2 years ago (big mistake) and accidentally wound up on the expert course (bigger mistake), needless to say I went up some steep climbs in 4x4 and was pushing so hard I started overheating but never any oil smells. That's not the same situation but very similar with the stress and being in a low gear up a hill for a long time.
As far as rear disc brakes conversion... there is a kit out there for over $3 grand... I don't reccomend it.

Trailer brake are must for heavy loads. The cable just plugs in under the dash. Match up the wires on the brake controller and your in buisness. If you have the controller set right its like stopping without a trailer.

I have a trailer brake connector in the truck, somewhere...

The trailers I've had connected that had brakes used the 'surge' style. One worked okay. One seemed to lock up every time. So I'm not sure if that's the right way to go...

My son and I were kicking around the idea of a temperature gauge for the transmission.

Thoughts?

I'm planning on doing the same. I had one on my last truck. It gives you a peice of mind knowing what's going on with the tranny.
