05 Overhead Console Wiring, CAN Bus B connection, etc
I should have it today or tomorrow. I'll post some pics. I'm gonna me a harness for it too, pretty easy. I looked at the wiring in the A pillar, not much of an issue
I tried finding a harness online for it but couldnt find anything. The only thought I had was to take the cover off the A-pillar and cut that connection off, and then extend all the wires and hopefully that would be the same harness that goes in to the console, but I have no idea if it is. Keep us posted Nano.

The harness is glued to the headliner. In fact, in order to buy the harness, you have to buy the headliner!
What I did was use taps on the pillar harness, worked well for me. I figured I would not need to unplug it on a regular basis
Also, the repair manual talks about degaussing the roof area, I did not need to do this.
It also took a little driving around for the compass to "adjust". If yours happens to be way off, there are calibration procedures in the manual as well.
Have fun!

Package received. The mounting bracket is much different. I'll post pics in a bit. The part number is clearly wrong on either the part that I was shipped, or what is in the parts book.
As far as the harness goes, I'm with Ham... coupla taps, some 20 gauge, and we're in bizness. Pretty straight forward.

The console is identical, plug is the same. The bracket is the only thing that was different.
Also, the part numbers of the brackets are only different by 1 digit, but the part numbers cast into the plastic and the Mopar part numbers do not match (surprise surprise)
I'm not home (been traveling on business most of the week), so haven't had the time to deal with the picture compression so I can post them. 1 thing though, is that the bracket that was the wrong part number can definitely be adapted to mount the overhead console with a dremel. Its probably an annoying exercise, but it can be done if we can't identify the correct Mopar part number for correct console

Console is in and working!
I took lots of pics, and now just have to shrink them so I can post them.
Major Steps
Have to configure the Homelink today, which is always annoying cuz I have those scrambled door openers, which always take massive amount of time to get them to work correctly.
All in all, really happy with how it came out

Major Steps
- Replacing the existing mounting bracket with the correct bracket
- Pull the A pillar trims
- Remove Sun visors
- Pull the forward part of the headliner down
- Unscrew the old bracket and install the new bracket.
- Disconnect the connector on the right A pillar
- Cut the CAN Bus B wires and console power/ground wires (Orange, Orange/White are CAN Bus B, Red/Black and Black are power and ground)
- Extend the wires up to the console area (I soldered and shrink tubed)
- Connect the extended wires to the connector (make sure to get the colors right!)
- Cut the headliner to allow the new console to fit (go really slowly with a crazy sharp tin snip and utility knife)
- Connect the wires and test
- Clean up the colossal mess
