Default 05 Overhead Console Wiring, CAN Bus B connection, etc

OK, I know this has been discussed here some amount, but not sure if anyone solved the problem yet.

Got a fancy overhead console from a wreck, and want to install it into my 05. The lighting connector is identical, so no problems. It looks like the back plate (that is behind the headliner) is different (argh, why do they do these things), but I'll make it fit. Now all I need is to find the CAN Bus B wire (White, White-Orange) wires to connect to the console

Has anyone successfully done this retrofit?

I have the AllDataDIY wiring diagrams if anyone wants

Yep, I did it! All the wiring connections you need are under the pass. side pillar.
You will need the mounting bracket underneath (good luck without it), you can get it from the dealer for $50.00.
Download the Mopar repair manual from https://dodgeforum.com/forum/3rd-gen...ce-manual.html

I did not need to degauss the roof, it worked fine for me.

Also, to change out the mounting bracket, you do not need to pull out the headliner, just take out the sun visors.

Awesome!!! Thanks!!! Yep, that blasted mounting bracket. I figured I could get the electrics to work, but was not expecting that bracket. Too bad, as the wreck that I got the console from had it..

Did you cut the headliner? Looks pretty straightforward

Once you have the new bracket in, cutting the headliner is a breeze.

Good luck with that, I have two of those places here and neither have any 3rd gen dakotas. I'm trying to find another chrome piece for my front bumper since I f'd up the paint job on mine and there are none to be found.

Can the front chrome bumper piece be reused once it comes off?
I was thinking of getting a new bumper cover and have it painted to match the body color.
I don't want to have to buy another one...

Besides, having tag holes annoys me as we only have rear tags in DE!

Ive heard of a lot of people breaking the tabs off or cracking the moulding in half when trying to get if off. I had the bumper cover off once, and that moulding was held on there pretty good by the clips.
