Thanks for the Info. I was about to do that, cause all of the plumbers I talk with say that the black ABS will expand and contract with heat. I might look into CPVC though. Ya might be able to get it at a plumbing supply store.

Yeah, I read the heat issues with PVC before in another thread and ABS was suggested instead. Never really looked in to ABS. I was running some new lines for an RO/DI unit in my basement and while at the store I noticed that PVC is only approved for cold water, and CPVC is approved for hot or cold. My dad didnt even know the difference. He always ran copper for hot water.

I guess ABS wouldnt be the worst if it expanded and contracted; you just dont want gaps to form where unfiltered air can get in. I wonder how much heat it takes.

This question was asked before and there was no answer. But what is the grommet size for the iat sensor? I was hoping to go right from work and pick one up to install my cai.

Its for the fish tanks. Reef tanks require the purest water to avoid algae growth. City water here contains 168ppm of total dissolved solids, RO takes it down to 2-1 ppm, and the DI takes it all the way down to 0 ppm.

lol for my CAI (you can find it, fairly recent post) i just used a piece of rubber hose that matched the size of the sensor pretty tightly. If you look at the sensor, it's got a rubber washer on it as well. I then basically drilled a hole so the rubber hose would have so screw on basically go get in the pipe. I then also siliconed it in place from the outside, and test fit the sensor.

A rubber grommet will work as well.... but I was working with exhaust piping - working on heat sheild for both the filter and the tube now.... wish me luck!

Well I just moved and have been without internet so I'm down at a local coffee shop excited to finally be back! I finished my DIY CAI and I'll put up pictures as soon as I get internet at my house again which will hopefully be soon!

Rengnath what size reef tank to you have? I just got a 60 gal set up that I'll hopefully have up and running within the next month. I'll get some pictures of that to show you too. I'd love to see yours.
