DIY Air Intake
I've got a lot of time off over the next few months (yes I said months) and wanted to work on a DIY Air Intake. I was curious if anyone has done one for an '05 and might have a list of parts already done. This would really help me out since I'm a complete rookie at this. I love the one keithhud made in this post https://dodgeforum.com/forum/3rd-gen...emade-cai.html.

Mine is held in with a rubber grommet also. I paid $45 for mine off ebay. I just can't see spending 350 for a brand name when you can either buy a cheap one from ebay or even cheaper, make it yourself. K&N, Airraid, etc are ridiculously overpriced for what they are. Then only drawback is these cheaper ones are not insulated from hot engine bay temps. Mine sucks air from right over the exhaust manifold, but I will make some sort of deflector/insulator for it one of these days, or I'm going to get some b@lls and make my own forced air intake with a hood scoop....

If you have the cohones, you could find yourself a nice fiberglass scoop, and do this...

In the time off, you would be able to figure out a way to make an airbox.
That scoop isn't just for looking good! ;-)
