Question Rev limiter warning??

Do our trucks have a rev limiter warning, like a buzzer or chime that sounds off when you get to a high rpm ?

I asked because on my way to work i was trying to get to the left lane on a service road to get on the highway and the idiot next to me riding on the left lane (with a f150) was not going to let me pass so i had to change back to the right lane and gun it!

I was doing about 40 mph and got into overdrive and that's when i heard the buzzer! No lights or nothing just that weird buzzer i have never heard before!

Anyone has anything like that or knows about it? I'm not worried about it but i never heard it before..

Thanks!!

One day while on the freeway I heard a "ding" almost like a door was opened or a CEL came on, but nothing. It never did it again. And Im sure it was one of those days where I used all 8 cylinders to get on the freeway.

Ive had my engine up to 6100 RPM several times and never got it before. Now I only push it to 5800 as theres not power much after 5300.

Yeah, peak HP is seen at around that 3500-4000 RPM range.

I have the 3.55 gears and I get out of first quick. I think I have it shifting at 5350 RPM.

If I shift out of 2 to 3 at that RPM range though, the truck gets bogged down by 3rd gear so I ride 2nd gear up until 5750 RPM or so.

the "buzzer" was just your ears ringing from the exhaust

where you low on fuel? Gas shifting in the tank will set off the low fuel warning. It happened to me and i could figure it out until i nailed it again and it dinged again and the low fuel light came on.

I did not shift the tranny manually. It was not a "ding" it was a buzzer sound. I have no idea but i''l see after i get out of work if i can duplicate it and i'll let you all know. Like i said it's not that i'm worried but it's more curiosity. I remember my last Rx7 if you redline it at 7-8k rpm it had a light and a buzzer going off but i don't think my truck went up that high. So, will see!!!!
