He gutted the stock resonators and muffler. He went to a Flowmaster system, I believe it's this one.

You'll only be happy with the choice you like best no matter what anyone says.I like both Ideas, But I will say this, I love , love , love My Hemi Powered-Dakota Quad Cab...It drive great, has as much power as I need,it's easy on gas, And has enough room inside to haul the family..I think they should have put a Hemi option package on the Dakota Quads and Extended Cab Dakotas..It might have hurt the sales of the Ram a little, But , The Hemi Dakotan sales would have been off the chart..

I have to agree and you have one nice truck man. Only thing stopping me is most of the 5.7L Rams from my SOVA truck club dyno'd in around 245-260 rwhp. I know I could get that back easily with a cam and heads. If I supercharged that I would be putting down some serious numbers. I'm just pissed that my 224 cams and 4.10 gears are not compatible. I have a friend in VA who runs an Import tuning shop. I sent him my all my dyno and data logs. Both on 206 cams and 224 cams. This is what he said.

Billy,
Gears are meant to get you into the higher RPM range quicker (where a modded motor makes more power). Your 4.10 gears are doing the exact same thing. Basically you are cutting your blower’s power band in half. Your dyno with the 206 grind was spot on. You are better with the 3.55's cause with 4.10's it will take you out of the blowers RPM range in a hurry which will can slow you down. IMO 3.55's are the best (with blower) for keeping you in the power range longer. Basically you are loosing around 50 hp to the wheels since you are moving through gears to fast.
Cheers.

My only concern now would be which one feels better; but maybe Im thinking this through wrong.

Isnt it still possible to be faster with less power with 4.10s just because the 3.55s will take longer to wind up, even with an extra 50hp?

lol i bet the extra 50hp will make up the difference! and if your not putting the power to the ground because of the gear ratio...then you are really slowing yourself down! he will more then likely be faster after the gear swap!!

I PICK option 1, lets see what that setup can completely do then switch once pretty much you are maxed out

It takes alot of power though to make a difference in quarter mile times. And acceleration is a major factor in the times as well. When you start sacraficing acceleration for power, it may not be an even trade off. Im just curious to see what the difference will be with the slower gears but more power.

Just like an engine has a powerband, so goes a supercharger. The problem is I can't stretch the gear to find the sweet spot. I rip through 1st and 2nd gear pretty fast the problem is I hit a wall at 3rd gear. Nothing I've done has gotten my 3rd gear pull back. Acceleration is cool but I'm hitting a brickwall and I only see two options. Go back to 206 cams or go back to 3.55 gears. I'm going to give the 3.55s with Auburn LSD a shot and see what happens. I bet I get my 3rd gear pull back

There are too many factors to add in "IF" you're question is about changing gears and ratio v/s More Horsepower..
Start with the Motor "Horsepower", Not Much ? Lets say- maybe 265 hp..
Camshaft is stock and so are the heads and so forth.. Now you have to find little ways
to wake up this motor without going into it.. Custom Exhaust + 15 hp
Electric Fan over steel + 10 hp
Cold Air injection + 20 hp ?(+) or (-)
Computer Chip + 30 hp
__________________
= 310 hp (+) or (-) 10
Go from there.. That's my opinion..
