i told him i had non ho cams and wanted 206 (i dont but just acted like i did)

You can have a standard 4.7L cam reground, but you won't get the same performance out of it. The standard cam and HO cam have the same lobe profiles but different centerlines. The HO will be on a 111 centerline and the stock cams are a 115 centerline. This is why we wanted billet cams with true centerline to spec vs regrinds on 115 centerlines.

oh that sucks. so would it be even worth it to regrind a standard 47 cam?

I don't think so but who knows, a 212X grind on a standard 111 centerline profile might not turn out bad. Personally, I wouldn't spend the money on a non ho for a grind.

From an HO core they can make 206, 212, 212X, 218 and 224. Currently the only performance cams available to us are regrinds based off of the HO 115 centerline core.

That is why Billet camshafts would be the bomb vs the regrinds we've been using.

How much do you think you would have to mill down to get 10.0 to 1 CR?
All of the OEM head gasket companies strongly warn against milling more than .002 due to ohc timing issues.
