Seems a little high... or course there is 70 hp between the new and the old 4.7. If they are seeing these kinda numbers maybe I ought to start shopping for a new 08+ dak...

I know when Mr.Crash had his 08 Dakota, he claimed a huge difference. With the 08s, the major advantage is the tuning for the DBW. It increases throttle response instead of the computer manipulating the value to the throttle body.
Superchips claims +18rwhp for the 05 4.7l, but Ive never seen the dyno for it. I guess I never took it to be B.S. since its only 18hp. If they were claiming more, I might be a little worried. I would be curious to see that dyno for the 08 though. Thats a ton of added power for a gasoline engine.
The other thing is, with a tuner that would actually add that much, that puts you close to the new stock Hemi with never opening your hood. Of course, youre still 50 hp short, but getting over halfway there with a tuner is insane. I wonder what an SCT could add with an aggressive tune. Superchips doesnt tune to the max so they dont start frying engines when people use the wrong octane or a low quality gasoline.

Like lghtngblt02 said, the 08 and up 4.7 has 70 more HP from the factory than the 05-07 version. I've had my tuner for about a year now and I can tell you it made quite a difference on my 08. And I'm only running the 87 tune. Unfortunately, with the upward trend of gas prices lately the higher octane tunes probably won't be in my near future. :/
Between the tuner and CAI, I don't doubt for a second that this thing is putting out around 350hp now.

I just bought this and a K&N intake for my 08 4.7. I am running the 91 tune right now. They do have a 93 for the 4.7 but you cant get 93 octane every where here in VT so I'm not running it. The biggest difference I have found was the shifting between 3rd and 4th gear. It use to be, before I had the superchips there was a lag almost between 3rd and 4th gear but thats now gone. I also can garentee that this thing isnt putting out around 350hp.

I'm not one bit suprised. There was talk the 08+ 4.7L was capable of matching hemi power during original testing so Dodge tuned it down so it wouldn't compete with the bigger 5.7L. Would be awesome if Superchips found a way to unlock that extra 80hp at the crank/50hp at the wheels. Now you are looking at a 310rwhp n/a Dakota with nothing more than a tune. If this turns out to be true, I will certainly be looking into buying an 08+ 4.7L. Like I said, if its true.
