08 4.7L Dyno Numbers
I agree, my 09 definitely needs to be held in the upper ranges to keep it happy and pulling hard. That being said it is noticeably quicker than my Dad's F150, and is much faster than my roommate's Acura 3.2 TL (2003 model) in an impromptu race between stoplights one day. They are both automatic so I can't even claim I'm a better driver.
I bet thats their new 93 octane tune. I posted up their 91 octane tune and teh numbers weren't nearly that good. Those are the numbers I expected a stock 08 4.7L (315 crank hp) to put to the ground.
Hi, this is my first post, I joined due to this thread that I stumbled on during a google search....I have a 2010 4.7L with the superchips flashpaq. I can say that I've seen the dyno posted by superchips and it seems way under rated to me. The truck feels waaay faster than it looks on the graph. Also, superchips claims 50hp and 55ft lb MAX gain, not PEAK gain....and it is accurate. If you look at the dyno it shows this gain. My 2010 4.7L quad cab with big aftermarket wheels and AT tires(amongst other things; step bars, class IV hitch, full size spare, and full tank of gas) ran a 16.2 1/4 mile while it was 95 deg out. Not too bad considering. Keep in mind the extra few tenths of weight, bad gearing, and heavy truck. DA corrects that to about a 15.8. I have 3.55 gearing. Only other mod is a airaid drop in filter and modular intake tube. That's what the stock hemi (390 hp at engine) runs in the same truck. You guys gotta keep in mind that comparing torque curves between vehicles is relatively useless, it's only good for tracking changes on a particular vehicle. Also, I know some people at superchips (somewhat) and they told me the only difference between the 91 and 93 tunes is a few degrees of timing advance, nothing else. They say it adds roughly 3 to 6 hp. I just found this thread interesting and wanted to join and post up and hopefully gain some info from you all also. Sorry such a looong first post. I'm a member of ramforumz as well, same username...
EDIT: and I know this thread is OLD lol but again just came across it...

Is this topic really that dead?
Are you dakota guys building up the 2nd gen 4.7L the way they were the 1st gen 4.7L? Seems like not many people are building the new motor up....doesn't make sense to me as it's much more powerful, and seems to be stronger as well.
