emailed a lot of lift manufacturers
also for those wanting to know what goes into making long travel control arms. Dirtydeedsindustries.com has a nice thread about it....

ok a couple things....in no way was my comparison towards his company. a better business ethic would be to make a lift kit for someone no matter how many people are interested. if a customer wants a lift kit built. even if its custom. it shouldnt matter how many people are interested. because THAT customer is the one in the shop right now with money.
and another thing. WHO said youll b dropping 3k on a kit? thats the long travel kits TC sells for the toyotas. those are highly engineered full race kits. i was merely showing you guys the axles they use for the long travel kits. and that there is nothing special about our trucks that arent the same as any other mid size that has a kit. the ONLY thing stopping our trucks from having a kit is the popularity. everyone keeps thinking its hard to this or that. or this or that cant be done on our trucks because some how our design is SO much different. cmon guys! you guys DO know that 7 ford engineers designed our entire truck.....
this has nothing to do with the difficulty of making something. it has to do with big time companies not wasting their time for just one or 2 of us. and smaller guys like me working out of a garage and a part time college kid budget.

Wow this thread is a hot topic! In the time it took me to read it there were more posts already! That alone tells you how much interest is in a lift!
I haven't been on in a few days due to homework but I started looking into using parts from other lift kits to retrofit for ours but this is even better...not to mention probably safer!
As said by someone earlier, I would definitely be willing to email Dave and let him know my interest as well as give him my number so he can talk to me about the suspension setup and what would be needed to lift our trucks.
Also, someone made a good point about finding 100 people that want the same lift. I agree that 6" in the front by using taller knuckles/spindles, longer coilovers or coilover drop brackets, lower control arm drop, diff drop, and in the back 4" leaf spring mounting drops (or taller leaf springs but would cost more $) would be ideal.
I was in the process of asking you guys to help me build a kit (need measurments from an 06 Ram) but my computer crashed...but this sounds like it has more potential! (I called the people who did that show truck back in 05 from airbagit.com and they weren't interested in even talking to me about the lift they did it was so weak!!!)
Its tax refund season as well, so spread the word about the possibility to everyone so they can save their refunds! Like said before, $1000 should get us a nice 6" lift like the rough country one for the 06 rams that we can take off road.

FYI: started a new interest list thread, it should look better if dave sees an up to date list specifically for his product

Exactly, I have sent messages to several lift companies OFFERING TO FINANCE THE ENTIRE DESIGN AND R&D PROJECT. They would not have to spend a penny to make/design the kit.
I offered it in two ways.
A they get paid to design it, and I get a comission on it as they sell. Then thay have next to no money in it other than materials after it goes into production.
or
B, They get paid to design it, plus profit, and they then hand over 1-2 finished kits, and all the designs and rights to it, and I take the design to a local manufacture that would be more than willing to make it.
For these companies, it is not about if they can make a profit period, it has to be a huge profit before they will even consider taking the time, even if they would get paid to do it.
That is why I need to talk to the local guy that makes lifts for toyotas. See if he would be interested in it.
Personally I find it ridiculous, that there is such a small aftermarket for such a BA truck.
