Default Navigation Unit Install

Ok so my navi unit came in the mail =D

IMAG0229.jpg

I bought a faceplate from another dakota, and cut it to fit the double din screen. (i saved my old faceplate in case i ever wanted to switch back)

I had to glue a couple of plastic strips cut to fit he round wells where the volume and tunning ***** used to be.

and off came the old

if you look below you can see a plastic strip where the old radio used to rest; i cut that off too.

The radio was intalled, and I ran my wires for the sub amplifier.

And 4 hours later!

ha! not at all.

I bought the harness kit so i didnt have to cut and match every singe wire. I also needed the antenna adaptor.

Other than that I just had to get creative with the cutting. My whole idea was to install an aftermarket Navi unit that would look as close to a stock system as possible.

Nice install. Yeah the harness kit is the way to go. Little extra work but worth it.

Yes, really nice install. I would also like to know what brand and model is it.
